What BTY actually is on-chain

Another asset tracked on this site also uses the ticker BTY: Battery (TON). These are unrelated tokens with separate contracts, separate supply and separate price histories — a price alert set on one of them says nothing about the others, and a ticker search is not enough to tell them apart.

For BTY the project publishes an active account as @bityuanofficial. That is a partial paper trail — enough to check claims against, not enough to audit. None of it is a quality judgement about the asset; it is simply what can be independently checked before the chart is worth looking at.

Where BTY sits in the market

Bityuan is a base-layer network, so BTY is simultaneously the chain's security budget and its unit of account rather than a claim on a business. Value accrual runs through validator economics and through whatever activity settles on the chain itself. It is secured by proof of stake, so a portion of the supply is bonded to validators at any moment and the float genuinely available to trade is smaller than the circulating figure implies; unstaking queues, not order books, set how fast that can change.
