Key Facts
Frax USD (frxUSD) is a fiat-redeemable, fully-collateralized stablecoin issued by the Frax Finance Protocol. It operates using a hybrid model where governance-approved enshrined custodians mint and redeem frxUSD backed by cash-equivalent reserves, while advanced onchain mechanisms developed by the Frax Finance Protocol ensure stability, security, and seamless usability across DeFi and traditional financial systems. Frax USD (FRXUSD) market structure
Derived from this coin's own rank, all-time high and low, supply figures and category tags — not from a template. Every figure below is stated with the date or ratio it came from.
What FRXUSD actually is on-chain
Frax USD is an ERC-20 deployed on Ethereum, at contract address 0xcacd6fd266af91b8aed52accc382b4e165586e29. That address, not the ticker FRXUSD, is what uniquely identifies this asset: anyone can deploy a second token calling itself FRXUSD, but the contract is unforgeable. Verify it against etherscan.io before sending funds or approving a spend.
Because it lives on Ethereum, FRXUSD is held in any EVM-compatible wallet, transfers are paid for in ETH rather than in FRXUSD itself, and secondary liquidity sits in Uniswap-style AMM pools. Two consequences follow for anyone setting alerts: you need ETH in the same wallet to move the token at all, and a quoted price taken from a pool is a pool price — it includes slippage that an order-book quote would not.
For FRXUSD the project publishes a public source repository and an active account as @fraxfinance. That is a partial paper trail — enough to check claims against, not enough to audit. None of it is a quality judgement about the asset; it is simply what can be independently checked before the chart is worth looking at.
Where FRXUSD sits in the market
#239 places Frax USD in the upper mid-cap band. This is where continuous two-sided quoting stops being guaranteed. FRXUSD still prints regularly, but the depth behind each print thins out through the session, and the same order that barely registers in the morning can set the day's high in a quieter hour.
We are not currently receiving a live FRXUSD order book from any of the exchanges connected to this site, so no real-time quote is shown above. That is itself information: it usually means the pair is unlisted on the venues we track, or trading has been halted. FRXUSD is a Ethereum asset, so whatever turnover exists is most likely in Uniswap-style AMM pools rather than on a centralised book, and every fill there costs ETH in gas on top of the pool's own fee.
FRXUSD against its all-time high
Frax USD's record high is $1.09, set on 2026-04-12. That high sits in a range where whole-cent and whole-unit levels are genuinely traded, which makes them usable as alert thresholds if a quote returns. The print is recent enough — within the last six months — that it still describes the market FRXUSD trades in today. We are not quoting a drawdown from it because no tracked venue is giving us a live FRXUSD price — a stale or single-pool number would make that percentage look precise when it is not.
FRXUSD across its historical range
The recorded range is comparatively narrow: 1.11x between $0.9762 and $1.09. Either the price history is short, or the asset is designed not to move.
The record low of $0.9762 was printed on 2025-02-17 — roughly 2 years ago. We have no live quote to measure the current distance from it.
FRXUSD supply structure
There is no fixed maximum supply for FRXUSD. Total supply stands at 138.9 million FRXUSD and essentially all of it — 100.0% — is circulating. With no locked treasury to unlock, dilution comes from protocol issuance over time rather than from a cliff on a vesting calendar, which tends to produce slow supply drift instead of discrete unlock shocks. A supply in the hundreds of millions keeps the unit price in a range where round-number levels are genuinely traded, which makes price-threshold alerts more reliable than they are on high-supply tokens.
What kind of asset FRXUSD is
Frax USD is pegged to the US dollar, so the only price question that matters is whether the peg holds; trend and momentum readings on a dollar peg describe noise, not direction. Our dataset does not record which backing model this token uses, which is itself worth resolving before holding it: reserve-backed, collateral-backed and algorithmic pegs fail in very different ways and on very different timescales. Its size is mid-range for the category — large enough to be quoted continuously, small enough that a single large redemption is visible in the price.
CoinGecko files FRXUSD under 10 categories, including Stablecoins, USD Stablecoin, BNB Chain Ecosystem, Solana Ecosystem, Avalanche Ecosystem. CoinGecko also records deployments on BNB Chain (2,027 tracked tokens), Solana (3,129 tracked tokens), Avalanche (256 tracked tokens), so on-chain liquidity is split across several networks and the cheapest venue depends on which deployment you are trading.
