What USD1 actually is on-chain

USD1 is a BEP-20 deployed on BNB Chain, at contract address 0x8d0d000ee44948fc98c9b98a4fa4921476f08b0d. That address, not the ticker USD1, is what uniquely identifies this asset: anyone can deploy a second token calling itself USD1, but the contract is unforgeable. Verify it against bscscan.com before sending funds or approving a spend.

Because it lives on BNB Chain, USD1 is held in any EVM-compatible wallet, transfers are paid for in BNB rather than in USD1 itself, and secondary liquidity sits in PancakeSwap pools.
